Photo seminar with Thorge Berger

Learn to tell stories with pictures - an art that is the focus of this seminar. We will look at the effect of individual photos as well as the structure of photo reportages and photo series. Which visual language is decisive? Which creative principles and narrative techniques play a role? How do images create a captivating narrative?

Whether for a book, a photo book, a website or a web gallery, whether for lectures or travel documentaries - in this exclusive workshop you will develop a feel for coherent image series, dynamic reportages and the subtleties of visual storytelling.

Thorge Berger received his first Nikon camera on his 16th birthday and has been passionately photographing while traveling ever since. The idea to further professionalize this passion came to him in 2010 during a photo trip through India with the American photographer Steve McCurry. Steve said of him at the time:

"Thorge has a real passion for his photography and a tireless curiosity to explore this amazing world we live in."

This was followed by exhibitions, publications and awards (including "Grenzgang Photographer of the Year" in 2013). Thorge has now traveled to more than 50 countries on 5 continents and organizes photo trips to India, Bhutan, Myanmar and Iran and his photos are regularly published in trade magazines such as Fotoforum, Fotoespresso, DigitalPHOTO and Globetrotter Magazine. His first book publications as an author with dpunkt Verlag and Fotoforum Verlag will follow at the end of 2020.
