The MKS Big Band, the big band of the city's music and art school, will be playing at Bora in November.
It's going to be windy at Bora on Duisburg's Dellplatz: on Sunday, November 24, the MKS Big Band - the big band of the city of Duisburg's music and art school - will perform in the large hall of the cultural temple at 6 pm. With the usual powerful brass section and rhythm section as the backbone of the combo, the band has been an integral part of Duisburg's cultural landscape for over a quarter of a century.
The trademark of the big band under the direction of Rüdiger Testrut has always been its versatility. From jazz classics (Satin Doll) to soul hits (Isn't She Lovely), pop anthems (Happy), fusion hits (Birdland) and film music (For Your Eyes Only), music fans are offered everything their hearts desire. Duisburg audiences have been able to see this for themselves time and again in the past, whether at "Jazz auf'm Plazz", the Traumzeit Festival, the Extraschicht, the Haniel Open Air and at the Christmas concerts in the Landschaftspark's Gebläsehalle.
As so often before, the MKS Big Band is supported by the Muskito BeeBee, the junior big band of the music and art school under the direction of Markus Krieger.
