Rising Star: Momi Maiga is a young Senegalese musician, composer and singer whose passion and talent knows no bounds. With the kora in his hands and a heart full of stories, Momi creates melodies that combine the rich heritage of his West African roots with the soulful rhythms of jazz, flamenco and classical music.

On his debut "Nio" as well as his current album "Kairo" he impresses with tradition and innovation, he is playful and elegant and invites you on spiritual musical journeys that touch you - a deeply felt dialog between cultures, a call for peace, a celebration of life.

Momi Maiga is accompanied by Aleix Tobias, Carlos Montfort and Marçal Ayats. The extraordinary quartet, consisting of kora, violin, cello, percussion and vocals, spans a captivating arc of global beats and Mediterranean melodies.

Momi Maiga & Band will be playing at venues including the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and the Isar-Philharmonie in Munich just before the Oldenburg Kultursommer. We are looking forward to an extraordinary guest performance.
