Monday Shorts

In the organizer's words:

To the theater on a Monday night? No question about it! We are looking forward to the continuation of the "Monday Shorts", where artists and employees present specially designed programs on our small but fine stage in the theater restaurant. There is acting and singing, new ensemble members introduce themselves to the Lübeck audience, there are readings, improv shows and quiz evenings as well as quirky performances and stimulating discussion formats. The ever-popular "tastings" also continue to sail under this flag: shortly before our premieres, we invite you to take a look at rehearsals and our directing teams talk about their concepts. And the same applies in future: admission is free!

December

The Monday Shorts start December with a concert: our theater musician Willy Daum recites - seriously funny - Kurt Schwitters' "Ursonate". This will be followed on 09/12 by the second part of LUEBECCA, MY LOVE, in which Anna-Lena Hitzfeld will once again be in conversation with everyday heroes of the city. On the following Monday, there will be "Greek mythology told in a different way", in which the female characters will be the main focus. And for the last December episode on 23/12, we invite everyone who is "lonely" despite all the Christmas romance.

January

The new year gets off to a magical start: in the second edition of "Fairy tales told differently" on 13/01, the well-known stories will be given a contemporary makeover and have a few dramaturgical surprises in store for you! One week later, our play club will be showing rehearsal excerpts from its current production "MIXED SIGNALS". And on 27/01 there will be another taster, this time of a real theater classic: "Don Karlos" by Friedrich Schiller.

February

On 03/02, the Monday Shorts kick off with an episode on the topic of abortion in Germany that is as enlightening as it is debate-friendly. This is followed by a taster of the current musical production "Cabaret", directed by Malte C. Lachmann. In order not to let the romantic momentum of Valentine's Day die down, a soap opera inspired by Shakespeare's love tragedy "Romeo and Juliet", "Good Tides, Bad Tides", will make its way into the theater restaurant on 17/02. And finally, to mark the third anniversary on 24/02, the theater commemorates the victims of the Ukraine war with a reading.
