MONEYBROTHER / Schweden

In the organizer's words:

Moneybrother released his first album Blood Panic in 2003 on the Swedish label Burning Heart Records. At the time, BHR was home to highly successful bands such as The Hives, Refused, Millencolin and others. When the German band Beatsteaks were looking for a support band for their first tour for their breakthrough album Smash in early 2004, someone came up with the idea that Moneybrother would be a good fit. This was Moneybrother's first tour in Germany.

In the middle of the tour, Beatsteaks frontman Arnim had to cancel the concert in Cologne due to a sore throat. A gig in a random discotheque was organized at short notice. There were only four people in the audience - but luckily one of them was Viva TV presenter Charlotte Roche. The next day, Charlotte not only appeared on her show wearing a Moneybrother T-shirt, but also played the debut video Reconsider threetimes in a row. After that, Moneybrother was immediately able to go on tour again - this time as a headliner.

Moneybrother played sold-out shows and collaborated with big German names such as Gentleman, Wir Sind Helden and others. He and his band performed at Hurricane, Southside and all the other major festivals. Moneybrother even had his own segment on the Sarah Kuttner show on Viva TV and performed there several times.

Moneybrother's fourth album Mount Pleasure was released by Sony BMG in Germany in 2007. He sold over 100,000 records in Germany, and between 2004 and 2013 he and his band played over 100 shows - often in sold-out large halls in cities such as Berlin and Hamburg.

The last album released in Germany was This is where life is in 2012, and the tour for this album was Moneybrother's last performance in Germany. After that, he released two albums in Swedish and concentrated on the Scandinavian market.

Until now. Eight shows have been booked for September 2025 (Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Cologne). The occasion is the 20th anniversary of the highly successful second album To Die Alone, which coincides with the release of a brand new album - Moneybrother's first English-language album in 13 years, which comes from the same musical cosmos.
