here is no doubt that this band belongs to the remaining remnant of the upright who hold up the pennant of East German blues rock in the roaring big city as well as in less vibrant regions of the country.

In doing so, they are setting an example, also for the dignified gray customers, hitchhikers or bluesmen who are still there, still come and never want to be like father. Above all, they meet where the black Marie pursued her childhood dreams and where the Boogie Mobil can still refuel today.

For over 40 years, MONOKEL have been swinging their blues hammer in the glorious power blues version and show with their songs that they have found their very own language. To this day, they don't mince their words and take a critical look at the small and big truths.
The new titles have also arrived in reality. The band confronts realities and consciously enters into interrelationships that are reflected in the sound and arrangements.

With so many years of musical experience, this is a fine band on stage that knows how to play fresh and powerful without ignoring the zeitgeist.

Even well-worn blues-rock classics such as "Fool for your stockings", "Peter Gun" or "Little Red Rooster" are presented with dedication and love.
Power blues, a dish served boiling hot, unique to this band, which the two exceptional guitarists Michael "Lefty" Linke and Willy Borchert
(former MONOKEL founding member) spice up with their cuttingly sharp or sparklingly playful riffs and licks.
This explosive mixture is powerfully fueled by Dicki Grimm on drums. Pitti Pflüger provides the super groove on bass.
