Tessa is a successful lawyer. She likes to leave the final verdict to others. Her specialty is challenging the legal truth for her clients. It is therefore not difficult for her to successfully defend those accused of sexual assault. As long as there is no evidence to the contrary, i.e. "prima facie", her clients are innocent. Celebrating another victory in court, she gets closer and closer to a colleague from the firm. Until he gets too close to her and sleeps with her against her will. The assault is not only traumatic in itself, it also causes Tessa to question her entire legal belief system.

Suzie Miller's gripping monologue has received a tremendous response since its premiere in Sydney in 2019. Most recently, the Broadway performance received the "Olivier Award 2023" for Best New Play.
