The Landesmuseum Mainz is delighted to present the first solo museum exhibition of the artist Moritz Koch in August 2025. Entitled MEMORIESOF ANOTHER TOMORROW, the exhibition brings together the NOTES FROM FUTURE, FORGOTTEN PATH and NIGHTMARE IN PARADISE series to create an impressive overall show. NOTES FROM FUTURE and FORGOTTEN PATH, which are currently still in production, will be presented to the public for the first time.
Moritz Koch has made a name for himself throughout Germany with his elaborate, conceptual, scenic photographs. His works are reminiscent of film stills and are created in large-scale productions in which up to 200 extras and 30 historic vehicles are part of the staging. This visual abundance is complemented by precise lighting direction and a narrative visual language. Wrapped in a retro-futuristic aesthetic, Koch's motifs reflect current social issues in the field of tension between past, present and future.
The exhibition invites visitors to an extraordinary art experience that allows them to fully immerse themselves in Moritz Koch's visual worlds. In addition, unique 360-degree VR artworks can be explored that question the boundaries between reality and fiction. Insights behind the scenes of the complex production processes round off the exhibition.
The special exhibition is a cooperation project between the state capital Mainz and the General Directorate for Cultural Heritage Rhineland-Palatinate, Landesmuseum Mainz.
