Platinum-winning Canadian indie rock band in Austria and Germany this summer

With their extravagant sound between indie rock and alt-pop, Mother Mother have been successful in Canada for years. Almost unexpectedly, the band achieved a meteoric breakthrough via TikTok during the Covid-19 lockdown in fall 2020. The platform produced 9-digit creations for the songs from their albums "Touch Up" (2007) and "O My Heart" (2008). The tracks "Hayloft", "Burning Pile", "Verbatim" and "Oh Ana" became viral hits, while both albums now have over 2.1 billion streams on Spotify. streams on Spotify. With a total of more than 6 billion global streams, several number 1 hits in Canada and Billboard chart placements, Mother Mother have since played sold-out headline tours and major festivals in Europe, the UK, Australia and North America. In summer 2025, the band will be coming to the Austrian capital as well as to Stuttgart and Frankfurt for concerts in Germany.

In 2005, guitarist and singer Ryan Guldemond formed an acoustic trio with his sister Molly Guldemond and his girlfriend Debra-Jean Creelman, which became a band with drummer Kenton Loewen and bassist Jeremy Page. Launched under the name Mother, the self-titled debut album "Mother" was released in 2005. In 2006, the band changed its name: Mother Mother were born and released their debut album as a re-release in 2007 under the name "Touch Up" with two new songs, new overdubs as well as new artwork. "O My Heart" followed in 2008, after which Creelman left the band and was replaced by Jasmin Parkin, while Ali Siadat took over for Kenton Loewen on drums. With "Eureka" (2011) and "The Sticks", Mother Mother continued to attract attention in Canada before signing with Island Records / Universal Music in 2014. Their fifth album "Very Good Bad Thing" reached No. 4 in Canada in 2014, the band's highest chart position to date, with "No Culture" reaching No. 7 in 2017. After "Dance and Cry" (2018) and the unexpected virality on TikTok, Mother Mother signed to Warner, where the album "Inside" was released in 2021. "Hayloft" had previously become the band's most successful song and now has RIAA platinum status. In 2022, 'Hayloft II' was released as a sequel to the song, which also became a hit in its modernized form and replaced the 2007 version as the band's top track. Just under a year after their ninth album "Grief Chapter" (2024), the tenth LP "Make Believe" was released in March 2025.

Mother Mother are still in close contact with their fans and are not letting the second spring of their career dissuade them from their concept. With stadium-ready energy, regardless of the size of their stage, the band always deliver a dynamic, theatrical and unforgettable show. In doing so, they sing about themes of alienation as well as the pursuit of self-acceptance and social acceptance, providing a home for anyone who feels like they don't fit in anywhere else - as does the band's unique sound.
