Free, outdoors and under palm trees: this summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival will once again transform the Humboldt Forum's large Schlüterhof courtyard into a lively meeting place for sound, rhythm and culture.

Over four weekends, music from all over the world will radiate from the stage: from the raw energy of Mexican cumbia punk to the hypnotic groove of Kenyan dodo blues, from the electrifying syncopation of Congolese soukous to the powerful messages of Afrofuturist big bands. Japanese folk with a Caribbean influence, soulful jazz, hip-hop and the joy and resilience of the Frafra gospel round off this celebration of sound - boundless, multi-perspective and irresistibly danceable!

Mourning [A] BLKstar (USA)

Mourning [A] BLKstar is a multigenerational, gender- and genre-bending sonic fusion of Black culture. The musicians share stories and songs about the fall of America. Their music combines live instrumentation with hip-hop production and creates sound frequencies that make the African diaspora shine.

The Afrofuturist collective was founded in Cleveland and tours Europe and the USA with festival appearances from the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville and Le Guess Who? in Utrecht to Crossing Border in Berlin with Lonnie Holley.
