Who we are
We are Aminata, Fuma, Lotus and Louigi - and we invite you to dance, feel, discuss and make a difference with us. We are moved, an association in formation that works at the interface of dance, political education and pedagogy.
What we want
Self-determination. Dance. Change. Community.
Our bodies share stories and experiences of being affected by various forms of discrimination - and the joy of dance. We see our bodies as a place of self-empowerment, collective resistance and connection.
The body is not just a physical vessel for us - it is the center of our identity. But what does that mean? In a world that constantly tells us how to feel, move and be, we are fighting for the freedom to define our own bodies. It's about more than shame or pride, fear or pleasure - it's about how we experience our bodies, love them and use them as a source of strength for ourselves and our community.
From me, to you, to us
We want to find a language with you through dance and movement. A language that expresses feelings and experiences and strengthens us as a community. We believe in the power of dance as a means of discovering ourselves, connecting and making a difference.
Body - movement as self-awareness
Our body is the place where we live and experience. We want to get to know it better, listen to it and try it out. What feels good? How can I still move? What stories does my body tell? And which ones does it keep hidden?
Movement - dance as liberation
Movement brings us into the here and now. It connects us with ourselves and the community. Dance has a history of resistance, of liberation from colonial conditions and of self-empowerment - and it is precisely these roots that we want to respect, strengthen and focus on. In a society that often sees the body as a performance unit, we experience dance as a place for liberation and connection.
Politics - everything is political
We know that our social and cultural environment shapes us - and this is reflected in our bodies. Shame, fear, love, discrimination - all these experiences live within us. We don't just want to address these issues, we want to focus on them and think, dance and feel about them together.
Our goals
We aim to raise awareness of the importance of the body and make the effects of the social environment on it visible. We are committed to promoting body awareness and are particularly committed to empowering marginalized young people.
Bodywork (me): Physical health
Our bodywork focuses on getting to know and trying out one's own body. What do I like? What feels good? Where are my limits? How do I face others? How am I perceived and how does that feel? Movement, music and dance are our media. We offer formats that strengthen the body and raise awareness of its importance.
Social engagement (you): Community empowerment
Our social programs aim to strengthen the community and address the impact of the social environment on the individual body. We understand the body as a social place. How does my body behave when another body is present? Who are we together with our bodies?
Diversity and inclusion (us): Shared strengths
We not only believe in the power of diversity, but also focus on it as a condition for participation. Diversity for us is not an "add on" or a "nice to have". Our association actively works for the visibility of different bodies and identities. Power structures such as racism, sexism and classism shape our bodies. Through our programs and workshops, we promote an inclusive environment that honors the uniqueness of each individual and creates a place to give them space.
Empowerment (me, you, us)
Our programs are designed to empower people and support them in their personal and collective development. We provide resources and support to promote individual strengths and strengthen communities.
