Weave baskets, make amulets, model ceramics and create shadow portraits: This hands-on activity gives young and old the opportunity to encounter cultures in a playful and creative way. From the early days of mankind to the advanced civilizations of the Mediterranean to modern times - there's something for everyone here!

In the Museum of Antiquities

Regional archaeology - short journeys into everyday life in antiquity

Students present the results of a practical exercise in the museum. Travel to different regions and times of ancient Greece and get to know different areas of everyday life - or what remains of it.

Myths of the Mediterranean - Mythological representations between Etruscans and Greeks

Stories of gods and heroes, of animals and humans - there are many similarities and differences in mythological representations of the Mediterranean region. Here you get an insight into the exhibits of the Etruscans and Greeks in the Museum of Antiquities.

Join us on a journey back in time to ancient Greece and learn how the drawing of lots ensured justice. During our interactive guided tour with a reconstructed lottery machine, you can experience history at first hand.

Reading with John Sauter: Growing in Disappearance.

Visions of tomorrow meet the vanished of yesterday. Surrounded by testimonies of past societies, John Sauter and his guests read and talk about external and internal images, impressions and atmospheres. Present here are concepts such as the incomplete, the destroyed, the fragmentary, which are reflected in the collection.
