Jean-Jacques Lemêtre: Musicalopithèque

Jean-Jacques Lemêtre is a sound artist, collector and inventor of extraordinary instruments. He has been a musician at the famous Théâtre du Soleil in Paris for many years and most recently composed the play Heinrich Heine's Le Grand for the Düsseldorf THEATER DER KLÄNGE.

In this special concert performance, he presents over 130 instruments made from a variety of different materials such as wood, clay, metal, leather and plants - each of them a unique work of art inspired by nature and ancient cultures around the world. Some he collected, others he built himself.

Lemêtre sees his art as a form of engagement with the world: for him, nature is not only a source of sound, but also resistance and memory.

His musical journey takes him from the Stone Age through the Middle Ages to the soundscapes of the Aztecs, Africa and Asia - an impressive arc through time and space.

The concert is a poetic homage to nature - and a silent call in a noisy world that often forgets to listen.

The Theater der Klaenge lives from the passion for art - and from the entrance fees that make our performances possible in the first place. Unfortunately, we are therefore unable to give tickets away. Nevertheless, it is very important to us to give everyone who is interested access to our theater.

To help us achieve this goal, we cordially invite you to make a contribution with a solidarity ticket: Your support helps to subsidize tickets for low-income and low-income earners and make our theater accessible to all.

Choose the category that suits your situation - or the category with which you would like to support others:

• 11,- €: Minimum ticket for low-income earners

• 22,- €: Ticket for normal earners

• 33,- €: Solo ticket for high earners (admission ticket plus solidarity contribution)
