Music at Buschkrug - open-air concerts with children's program in Neukölln

On three Friday evenings in August and September, Britzer Park am Buschkrug will be transformed into a stage for live music from different continents. Solo musicians and bands from Afghanistan, Australia, Guinea and Syria will bring their artistic roots to life with reggae, pop, Celtic rock, folk, Arabic music and jazz and invite you to dance. DJ sets with world music, drumming workshops and children's theater complement the listening pleasure and make the program an entertaining experience for the whole family with Free admission.

About the musicians and performers:

Kazibaze (23.8.) are Clara Gracia and Felix Ahlert, the founders of the open-air children's theater of the same name. They combine poetry, comedy, circus and acrobatics in their plays. Their performance is guaranteed to captivate more than just children.
The Bouba Diakité Reggae Band (23.8.) spreads a carefree summer mood with a mixture of lively rhythms, catchy melodies and lyrics to sing along to. Band leader Bouba Diakité also invites you to two drumming workshops (23.8. and 6.9.), in which he shares his knowledge of traditional West African rhythms with participants and introduces them to the art of drumming.
The duo Tim Mc Millan & Rachel Snow (30.8.) will be touring the world, delighting audiences with melodic yet upbeat songs that combine Celtic rock, folk, metal, classical music and jazz. With percussive guitar playing, energetic violin sounds and harmonious vocals, the two musicians take the audience on a rousing and soulful journey.
Nabil Arbaain (30.8.) is a composer, oud player and founder of the first Arabic music institute in Berlin, the Arabic Music Institute Berlin. In his compositions, he combines classical Arabic music with jazz, flamenco and Western classical music. He will perform several pieces from his album "From Damascus to Berlin".
The musician Shekib Mosadeq (6.9.) is a pop star in Afghanistan and is known for his songs critical of the regime; he has released many albums and had to flee to Germany due to political threats. Here he continues to support people in Afghanistan and devotes himself intensively to his music.
Rapper* ohne Grenzen (6.9.) is an association deeply rooted in the hip-hop scene that teaches young refugees and migrants German through rap music in a playful way. In a cross-lingual performance, rap singing is celebrated as an international musical language.
The Musik am Buschkrug program is rounded off by DJ sets that offer a colourful mix of world music and Arabic music and provide plenty of dancing fun.
