Musik & Stulle mit David Ost

What is written about Davis Ost? Insanely talented, passionate and it has been clear since his piano lessons as a child that there is only one dream. David Ost playfully transcends classical genre boundaries. His path to music was different, which is why his music sounds so diverse.

David Ost, a Hamburg native by choice, has lived and worked in Ireland, China and the Caribbean and found himself as a musician in the Scottish port city of Glasgow, where he was actually studying. An open mic night changed everything and reminded him that there was still something he loved and missed. He quit his 9-to-5 job to finally be a musician full time.

After the first two singles "Good Enough" and "Liar", and Fresh Finds GSA & Fresh Finds Pop integrations, David released his debut EP "Good Enough" via Kontor New Media in August 2023. This first musical package is an honest reflection of his personal coming-of-age story and is still a hugely important milestone in David's career, as it helped him get the attention he needed to lay the foundation for a professional infrastructure.

His music sounds like strong, varied vocals with many timbres, bedded on a modern sound - somewhere between James Blake, Matt Corby, Bon Iver and Sam Fender - complemented by varied songwriting.

David used the pandemic shutdown to find himself and his sound. Whenever circumstances allowed, David toured the country, played gigs with Stu Larsen, Catt, Oska, Ryan McMullan, Adam French, YellowStraps, The Gardener & The Tree or worked on releases. In summer 2024 he played the Saturday night headline slot at the Umsonst & Draußen Festival in Würzburg in front of almost 1000 people and in October his first own headline show in Hamburg in front of an audience of 120 people.

Live, he transforms his self-written and partly self-produced songs with solo shows into a single goosebump moment and realizes his productions with a full band line-up in a sensitive but pompous way, so that it also bangs properly.

The next EP will follow in spring 2025. David's journey has only just begun. And we are delighted that he is a solo guest at Musik & Stulle for the second time.

As always, the concert will be accompanied by delicious sandwiches (included) and a colorful selection of drinks from the Hobenköök. Admission is at 6:30 pm and the concert starts at 7 pm.

Musik & Stulle has been a collaboration between Bridge Gigs and Hobenköök since 2018.
