The liberation from National Socialism in the spring of 1945 did not mean an end to persecution and discrimination for all victim groups equally. Homosexuals remained in the crosshairs under Section 175 - especially here in Düsseldorf.
In February 2025, young people led by director Marvin Wittiber took an in-depth look at the realities of life for queer people in post-war Düsseldorf in a theater project. The result was the staged reading "Nach dem Rosa Winkel" - an evening that asks questions, urges, accuses and tells personal stories.
For the Düsseldorf History Festival, the production returns to the stage in a reduced, unplugged version: a musical reading that focuses entirely on the voices, thoughts and longings of young people.
