Literature, bossa nova and existentialism with Simone Buchholz and Nicolai von Schweder-Schreiner!

In her latest novel "Nach uns der Himmel" (Suhrkamp), Hamburg author Simone Buchholz accompanies eight people on their vacation on a Mediterranean island, and it's like always on vacation: the problems they have at home travel with them in their suitcases. Then very strange things happen among people and gods and between the island and the underworld, while the administration of all this is, again, not new, rather helpless at first.

Nicolai von Schweder-Schreiner is a composer, singer and guitarist with Veranda Music, as well as an award-winning translator from Portuguese and English. He has translated Jennifer Clement, Leonard Cohen, Hari Kunzru, Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney, Chigozie Obioma, John Waters, Douglas Coupland, José Saramago and Daniel Galera, among others.

Together they will create an evening of text, guitar and song, a tale of life and death and the love in between, with classics from Brazil and a touch of melancholy from Motörhead.
