In demand: The political salon at Kultur: Haus Dacheröden
Face masks, social distancing measures, vaccination campaigns, lockdowns and debates about both sensible and senseless measures have kept us on tenterhooks for over three years. This state of emergency is over, but the virus remains and the consequences of the pandemic have still not really been dealt with. However, a reappraisal should not be a tribunal, but should look at what went well and what was bad. In this way, we can learn from the pandemic - not least to better prepare ourselves for future pandemics and other crises such as climate change. And to bring supposedly irreconcilable positions back into an open discussion with each other, beyond accusations and finger-pointing.
In the series "Nachgefragt: Der Politische Salon", André Brodocz from the University of Erfurt, author of the book "Demokratische Auszeit. Corona-Politik jenseits von Ausnahmezustand und demokratischer Routine", Theresa Hilse-Carstensen from IU International University Erfurt, who was involved in the research project "Thüringer Familien in Zeiten von Corona", and Hendrik Streeck, Director of the Institute of Virology at the University Hospital Bonn and author of the book "Nachbeben. The pandemic, its consequences and what we can learn from it'. The evening will be hosted by Ulrich Böhme from MDR.
The series "Nachgefragt. Der Politische Salon im Kultur: Haus Dacheröden" series aims to discuss topics that are socially relevant and move people. In contrast to the political arena, which often uses abbreviations and exaggerations, the aim of the salons is to engage in a differentiated debate that focuses on the issues at hand and seeks a contentious but also respectful discourse. The audience is expressly invited to take an active part in the discussion.
