The Akademie der Künste library provides exclusive insights into its holdings

Which books do artists collect? Which works inspire their own creations? What artistic relationships can be read from dedications? Based on these questions, the creative work of artists and their books will be made visible.

On the occasion of the first nationwide Night of the Libraries, the Akademie der Künste is offering exclusive insights into its library holdings. Unique specimens from private collections will be on display, including rare artists' books and original graphic samizdat journals from the GDR that were published without being censored.

Various stations in the reading room on Pariser Platz, with its impressive view of the Brandenburg Gate, invite visitors to make discoveries. Guided tours of the restoration workshop and the stacks reveal otherwise hidden aspects of the library.
