Meret Becker and Dietmar Loeffler interpret Barbara
"Let that time never return, when blood and hatred destroy the world", sings Barbara in her probably best-known song "Göttingen" - a song could hardly be more contemporary. In "NACHTBLAU - Chanson für eine Abwesende", actress and singer Meret Becker and musician Dietmar Loeffler revive the chanteuse Barbara, who is still less well known in this country than she deserves to be. Barbara is one of the great representatives of French post-war chanson.
Meret Becker is known for her roles in films such as "Der bewegte Mann" and "Tatort". She has been performing on theater and concert stages and in film and television productions since her childhood. In "NACHTBLAU - Chanson für eine Abwesende", Meret Becker sometimes slips into the role of the singer herself, sometimes she talks about the life of the chanteuse, as if she had spent many hours with a good friend, as if Barbara's life was reflected in her own in a multi-faceted way. Accompanied by three musicians, Meret Becker presents chansons that touch the heart, tell of strokes of fate, give hope, are sometimes light, sometimes thought-provoking.
