An ominous painting is at the center of Marius von Mayenburg's comedy: after the death of their father, siblings Nicola and Philipp find an inconspicuous painting in the attic, signed "A. Hiller." Or could it be "A. Hitler"? It would be better, because that would really increase its value. However, the provenance is unknown, and a painting of Adolf Hitler can only be sold profitably with one. While the Jewish sister-in-law argues strongly in favor of destroying the painting, Nicola and Philipp feverishly research the family history. Or are they constructing a new one?

Marius von Mayenburg uses light-hearted to bitterly wicked punchlines to explore the questions of whether the separation of work and artist should be possible without restriction and how far moral principles apply when financial profit is involved.
