NAFT

NAFT is an explosive tech-house sensation from Belgium, combining the power of wind instruments with the pulsating beats of techno and house. With a unique and highly explosive live performance, tried and tested on hundreds of stages, the six-piece band is breaking new ground in electro-acoustic performance. Their vibrant energy, uncompromising rhythms and pure rave spirit create an immersive live experience to rival any DJ set - a thrilling journey that will resonate for a long time to come.

NAFT was formed in 2018 on the streets during the Gentse Feesten, but quickly evolved from a 'guerrilla' street band to a permanent fixture on national and international (festival) stages. The band transformed into a live (tech) house formation with four horns and two drummers.

NAFT plays electronic music, but entirely live with acoustic instruments. The wind instruments are manipulated with digital and analogue effects via effect pedals - a technique that once revolutionized the electric guitar and now does the same for wind instruments!

Belgium has been known for electronic music for decades, and NAFT is helping to build on this 'Sound of Belgium' heritage with a captivating live show.

This concept was developed by professional musicians such as Floris De Smet, Tom Heynssens, Robbe Latré, Niels Van Paemel, Geraard Buyck and Dimitri Defossé. They come from different musical backgrounds but share a passion for brass music, production, electronics and beats. In the last five years, NAFT has played almost 250 shows, despite the challenges posed by COVID.
