"#NAZIHINTERGRUND": WORKSHOP with Sabine Reimann

For anyone interested in asking questions about their own family history during the Nazi era: Were there perpetrators, followers or perhaps even helpers among your ancestors? Which stories and memories are passed on from generation to generation?
passed on? What role do issues such as guilt, shame and responsibility play? We will show you how to research archives and databases. How do you deal with sources and documents, such as identity cards and certificates, photos, letters and diaries? Existing material can be brought along and examined together, both from your own family and from your social or geographical environment. The important question is: Where is the history of Nazi crimes, 80 years later, still connected to me in the present? What do I find out when I critically search for traces starting from myself? (Duration: 3 hours)

Sabine Reimann is a historian and works as a research assistant at FORENA and at the Alter Schlachthof memorial site, primarily in the field of education.
