#nazihintergrund?! Workshop zu familienbiografischer Recherche

In the organizer's words:

The workshop is aimed at anyone who is interested in asking questions about their own family history during the Nazi era.

Were there perpetrators, followers, persecutees or perhaps even helpers among your ancestors? What stories and memories are passed down from generation to generation? What role do issues such as guilt, shame and responsibility play?
We will also show you how to do concrete research. How can I research in archives and databases? What problems can I encounter? And how do I deal with sources and documents, such as ID cards and certificates, photos, letters and diaries?

If such material is available, you are welcome to bring it along and examine it together. It does not necessarily have to be about your own family. Research can also be carried out in the social or spatial environment. The important question is: Where is the history of Nazi crimes, 75 years later, still connected to me in the present? What do I find out when I critically search for traces starting from myself?
