Neptunian Maximalism

Neptunian Maximalism - NNMM for short - are more than just a band on stage. They are the dark shadows that lure us out of the light with their sound on a transcendental journey that wants to awaken in us the acceptance of the approaching end of the "Anthropocene" era. Founded in Brussels in 2018, the sound collective led by multi-instrumentalist Guillaume Cazalet and saxophone veteran Jean-Jacques Duerinckx pushes the boundaries of drone, free jazz and doom metal with trance-inducing rhythms, cosmic psychedelia and earthy sound rituals that use the power of two drums to push forward as hypnotically as they do to float in the vastness of space.

With every release to date - from the highly acclaimed epic album trilogy "ÉONS" to the Krautrock/free-jazz space opera "Solar Drone Ceremony" and the live recording "Finis Gloriae Mundi" - NNMM have conjured up haunting soundscapes in which the boundaries of time and space blur. Their 2021 album "Set The Chaos To The Heart Of The Moon", which was performed at the Roadburn Festival, is indicative of this, and the title also hints at where their sources of inspiration might lie - although the description "the dark side of Pink Floyd" is by no means an accurate description. On their recently released album "Le Sacre Du Soleil Invaincu (LSDSI)", which was mastered by none other than James Plotkin (KHANATE) and on which three ragas from classical Indian music were reworked into a two-hour sound epic using traditional instruments, NNMM offer a more than gripping sound experience with many facets, which should above all be experienced live. The chance is here and now, let it happen!
