Neurotitan: B-Side Hidden Tracks from Treasured Artists

The exhibition Neurotitan: B-Side shows works by nine selected artists with whom we collaborate in the Neurotitan Shop and whose products we offer for sale there. Some of them have been with us for half an eternity, others
we only discovered a few years ago - or they discovered us. Over all this time, we have been able to follow their artistic development. Their diverse portfolios represent an exciting cross-section of the independent Berlin art scene. With this exhibition, we want to offer them a platform to present themselves from a different side, away from the store, freely and without commercial pressure. On display are works that clearly set themselves apart from the goods on offer there. Be it because they go beyond the usual formats, because they use different materials or because they are part of an interdisciplinary creative process that has so far been hidden from most of our visitors.

The working and living conditions (not only) of artists in Berlin have become increasingly precarious over the years. Neurotitan has always seen itself as a place that tries to counteract this development within the scope of its possibilities and to offer artists a presentation and sales space in a central, highly frequented location at fair conditions. The artists based at Neurotitan are representatives of an independent art scene that avoids the usual exploitation matrix and at the same time represents a creative, authentic
creative, authentic Berlin with all its rough edges. This is evidenced by the wide range of diverse works such as screen prints, illustrated works, graphic narratives, individually designed textiles and accessories.

Artistic production in and around the Neurotitan thus becomes the central theme of our second anniversary exhibition to mark 30 years of Haus Schwarzenberg: with Neurotitan: B-Side, we are delighted to be able to present a selection of artists who have been paving the way for the amazingly successful Neurotitan project for many years in a spirit of trust and collaboration. However, it is also clear that the exhibition can only present a selection of what Neurotitan is really about: a multitude of exciting artists, producers and suppliers from whose great repertoire we can draw and select in order to share our enthusiasm with people who come to us from all over the world.
