Katharina Kollmann has been releasing music under the name Nichtseattle since 2017.
The singer-songwriter, who grew up in Berlin-Karlshorst, had previously released English-language music under the name Lake Felix, but began writing music in German with Nichtseattle.
After her first, self-released album "Wendekid" (2019), her second album entitled "Kommunistenlibido" was released in 2022 on the Staatsakt label and brought her a lot of attention.
The new double album "HAUS" was released in the spring of this year.
12 new songs that she recorded with her band and choir.
12 new songs from the precariousness, about necessary solidarity, about clans and necessary substructures.
From spring to winter, she is on an extensive tour of Germany (mostly with her band).
And in November at the Slow Club.
Band line-up:
Katharina Kollmann - Vocals, Guitar
Sebastian Wiege - guitar, background vocals
Juliane Graf - bass, background vocals
Sebastian Albin - drums
Gregor Lener - Flugelhorn (only at some concerts)
PRESS:
"...so coherent, eloquent, empathetic, artfully meandering and yet to the point, as perhaps last heard in this country from Maike Rosa Vogel....
Germany is supposed to be the land of poets and thinkers. according to HAUS, it is at least the land of a poet and thinker." (Musikexpress)
"... a lyrical epic of voices, guitars and a little percussion." (Rolling Stone)
"Touching record." (Der Tagesspiegel)
"Nichtseattle pose the social question tenderly, even if their gentle rock songs can be nasty...
Everything breathes here, and like any truly successful album, the music itself can also tell of its own longing, of the themes in the lyrics or of an attitude that you have to work on, be it doubting your own moral rigor." (zeit.de)
"And then you sit there fascinated and imagine who all lives with Katharina Kollmann and what this "house" looks like in which you are allowed to visit her and why you enjoy spending so much time there." (plattentests.de)
"With her new album "Haus", the Berlin musician establishes herself as a critical and touching voice that has long been missing in politicized German indie music." (Der Freitag)
"... some of the cleverest lyrics that German pop has had to offer in recent years." (Tip Berlin)
"... the Berlin songwriter creates a storytelling and songwriting full of intimacy, familiarity and at the same time accessibility, which also demands a lot from the listener. Nothing for on the side, but for right in the middle." (thegap.at)
