Nico Brandenburg Quartett

Nico Brandenburg is one of the most influential musicians on the NRW jazz scene. In his new project, the bassist presents his instrument in immense variety: as a rhythm generator, as a melody instrument and to create soundscapes. Brandenburg's compositions combine jazz and world music elements and inspire with clear melodies, complex harmonies and a captivating groove. The asphalt concert on the Seebühne will be the debut of Brandenburg's new formation, whose unusual line-up is quite intriguing: In the quartet with Klaus Gesing (bass clarinet, saxophone), Stefan Bauer (vibraphone, marimba) and Antoine Duijkers (percussion, drums), Brandenburg not only plays double bass, but also electric bass and African guembri bass. As the four musicians place a special focus on improvisation and interaction, the audience can undoubtedly look forward to a powerful and rousing concert!
