Feminist perspectives in current films and classics - not only on feminist day of struggle
The social and political climate during the McCarthy era in the USA finally prompted the artist Niki de Saint Phalle to pull up stakes and move to France with her husband Harry Matthews and their daughter. But the ghosts of her past also follow Niki to Europe. Instead of a life of glamor as a model and actress in Paris, Niki soon breaks down and has to seek psychiatric help. In the process, she discovers fine art - and soon puts the conventions of this world to the test...
