For 30 years, the Nils Landgren Funk Unit has been a household name for funk - powerful, precise, highly musical. The starting shot was fired in 1994: The band, originally simply called "Unit", became the "Funk Unit" at the instigation of producer Siggi Loch - with a clear mission: Funk. Without detours.

Eleven albums, countless concerts and a whole lot of groove later, the band is now celebrating its 30th anniversary - with the new album "RAW". The recordings took place in a special place: a studio on Mallorca, which friend and former trombone student of Nils Landgren, Johan Lundgren, helped to build. The idea was to get away from everyday life and take a creative break - with time, peace and quiet and a focus on the music.

The result? New songs that were created collectively - everyone brought something to the table, nobody knew who had written what beforehand. The result was a real band project: honest, powerful, recorded live, reduced to the essentials. Groove, wit, energy - without studio show effects. Simply: RAW.

After the recordings, the band played two intimate house concerts on the island. Direct feedback, testing new songs live, taking energy with them. This is exactly what the band is now bringing with them on tour - back on stage, where funk is at home.

The Funk Unit is more than just a project around Nils Landgren. It is a collective of top international musicians that has been impressing audiences with its special sound for years. The common thread: Energy, teamwork and the unconditional will to get the audience moving.
