Capturing unposed moments that reveal the beautiful or absurd in people's everyday lives - street photographers around the world are dedicated to this task. A lively and internationally well-connected scene has also emerged in Cologne in recent years. With photographs, exhibitions and book projects about cities such as Paris, Shanghai and Istanbul - but also Düsseldorf, Bonn and, of course, Cologne.
On July 30, representatives of "Street Photography Cologne" will present their works with a slideshow and a book stand as part of NIMM PLATZ on Neumarkt and look forward to exchanging ideas with passers-by and anyone interested in photography.
At 7 pm, street photographer Bruno Trematore will give a talk about his book "Jigsaw Falling into Place". In it, he uses the example of Düsseldorf to outline the "Disneyization of German cities" - and at the same time provides exciting insights into how a carefully edited illustrated book is created from an extensive photo collection.
NIMM PLATZ am Neumarkt is a joint project of Cologne's cultural administration and the independent cultural scene, with contributions from the University of Music and Dance (HfMT) and the Academy of Media Arts (KHM).
