Şehnaz Dost reads from ruh.

There is too much going on in Cemal's life. Between his job as a German teacher at an elementary school, the challenges of the diaspora and being a father to little Ekin, he gets to know Georg.
Perhaps as an escape from reality, perhaps as a visitation, his everyday life is increasingly interrupted at night by dreams of his deceased great-grandmother Süveyde. In them, she shows him scenes from her life and casually transports him to the place of his childhood.
Cemal wades deeper and deeper into the dark waters that increasingly surround him even when he is awake.

Şehnaz Dost is a freelance author. ruh is her first novel. Dost studied German language and literature, comparative literature and media cultural analysis. Her work has been awarded scholarships from the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin, the Künstler*dorf Schöppingen and the Kunststiftung NRW, among others. In her prose, she deals with disruption: what does not fit, how people behave towards it, and the question of gentleness Dost is a freelance author. ruh is her first novel.
