Claus Daniel Herrmann reads from Pinke Monster as part of the Cologne Summer of Literature at NIMM PLATZ

Frank is going through puberty and is slowly realizing that he is gay. The shy boy tries to gain recognition by drawing monsters, which go down particularly well with a boy in his circle.

Meanwhile, to help Frank's father, who is suffering from depression, his mother seeks help from an esoteric healer. The charismatic Thea not only gives the parents new hope, but the emotionally insecure Frank also feels safe and finds security in the new "secret knowledge".

However, when Thea blames Frank's monster drawings for his father's illness and then Frank's sexual orientation comes into focus, Frank has to jeopardize his relationship with his parents in order to emancipate himself.
