Julius Metzger alias Vapiano reads from GASTRO GUIDE 24 as part of the Cologne literary summer at NIMM PLATZ

Julius goes out to eat, drinks coffee and goes to the bakery. He meets friends, has conversations and overhears the other guests, gets upset about Cologne's gastronomy or is happy about one or two bright spots. "GASTRO GUIDE 24" brings together 50 new reviews - or texts that pretend to be reviews - and 22 colored pencil drawings by Joram Schön. The result is a round trip through Cologne and an annoying year 2024, without a seatbelt, but with up to 4 stars.

Julius Vapiano is a Cologne-based author and artist. For his project "It Tastes Like Ashes", he writes reviews with narrative elements on gastronomy, art and nightlife, which he publishes in various publication formats and together with contributions from recurring guest authors. StrzeleckiBooks has also published "Ihr Gastro Guide" (2017), "How To... Café Life" (2019), "11 Tränen" (2021), and "How To... Cook" (2024). In 2024, he went on a reading tour with meme queen Sveamaus.
