Sabine Schiffner reads from her new volume of poetry: Ay.Die Mondin.

In this poetry book, she has collected all the poems she wrote during her one-year stay in Istanbul in 2021 and 2022. In the poems, she wanders through the city, meets lost people, enters forgotten temples and mingles with demonstrating women, looks after seagulls and dolphins and searches for the missing horses of the Princes' Islands. Always there and present in all the texts: poems by the great Turkish poets who inspired them and accompany them on their poetic journeys through old and new Istanbul. The volume, published by Klak-Verlag in Berlin, was created thanks to two grants made possible by the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne and the Kunststiftung NRW.
