NIMM PLATZ - Kölner Literatursommer mit Ulrike Anna Bleier

Ulrike Anna Bleier reads from Üzum and from her blog#WHEREAMINOW as part of the Cologne Summer of Literature at NIMM PLATZ

ÜZUM - I should take part in something Ulrike Anna Bleier wanted to write about superimpositions in Istanbul. About who we are when we are in the in-between places of life. Because nowhere else can you stay in the in-between as well as on the ferries that cross the Bosphorus. But then everything changed. Shortly after their arrival in February 2023, the earth shook in eastern Turkey and Syria. The whole country was in a state of shock and mourning, which the author could not escape. In the Kunststiftung's residency booklet, which she has called Üzum ("grape"), she condenses her very personal impressions of Istanbul in the weeks following the earthquake into 12 pages of short prose, accompanied by colorized black and white photos. At the Neumarkt Pavillon, she will read from Üzum as well as some longer passages from her blog #WHEREAMINOW.
