Nirgendwo ist ein Ort

In the organizer's words:

Rousing enthusiasm, expressive images, infectious dance: "Nirgendwo ist ein Ort" (Nulle part est un endroit) is a tribute to the urban dance style of krumping*. In her danced lecture, choreographer Anne-Marie, alias Nach, Van talks about the origins and significance of krumping, its development into an artistic and community-building practice and how the spirit of krumping resonates in the Andalusian duende. In "Nowhere is a Place", Nach Van interweaves her artistic practice with archival materials and anthropological research on the Krump community. She gives an impressive account of her encounter with the highly coded world of krump, the battles, the freestyle sessions on the street and the intense energies of this dance form.

After acclaimed performances at the Paris Festival d'Automne and at HAU Berlin, "Nirgendwo ist ein Ort" can now be seen at the Junge Theaterwerkstatt am Zoo.
