Nirgendwo ist mein Zuhause: Buchvorstellung und Lesung

In the organizer's words:

Book presentation and reading
with Delschad Numan Khorschid

Moderator: Sarah Blendin (Stiftung Exilmuseum Berlin)
Venue: Werkstatt Exilmuseum, Fasanenstr. 24, 10719 Berlin
Free admission

An escape from Iraq to Germany - what does that actually mean? Delschad Numan Khorschid left his family and his Kurdish homeland in 2001 at the age of 17. His journey lasted almost two years - alone, destitute and close to death on several occasions. He now works successfully as an actor at the Residenztheater in Munich and is an author and photographer.

In his book "Nirgendwo ist mein Zuhause" (Schillo Verlag, 2025), he describes and processes his experiences artistically. He combines poems, prose texts and photographs to create a haunting narrative about flight, loss, hope and belonging.

As a guest at the Exilmuseum, Delschad Numan Khorschid is presenting his book for the first time in Berlin. He will talk about his story and his exile in Germany and about what writing means to him, who was not allowed to go to school as a Kurd. He will read from his book and answer all your questions in his incomparably open manner.
