NIYAZ is an internationally acclaimed music project founded in 2004 by the award-winning singer and composer Azam Ali (born in Iran, raised in India) together with the Iranian multi-instrumentalist and composer Loga Ramin Torkian. Together they create a fascinating soundscape in which ancient Sufi poetry and traditional folk songs from Iran, Turkey and neighboring regions of the Persian Gulf meet hypnotic electronic sounds and vibrant acoustic instruments - a trance-like soundtrack for the 21st century.
With four successful albums on the renowned label Six Degrees Records - all of which reached number 1 in the iTunes charts - Niyaz has caused a sensation worldwide. Her music touches, inspires and connects cultures. International media such as NPR, BBC World, Billboard, the Wall Street Journal and The Huffington Post celebrate her vision. In 2023, SPIN Magazine voted one of her live performances as one of the ten most impressive performances in the USA - across all genres.
