Noëlle Kröger: "Meute" / Comic reading, vernissage, workshop discussion
At the end of the 19th century, research is on the verge of an important breakthrough: in a small French town, the first living werewolf is captured at the Institute of Contemporary Sciences. A great stroke of luck for science student Margot, who has just started her practical semester there and is eager to get down to work. Thwarted by her male colleagues, she is initially left to her own devices and soon discovers that the werewolf is not what science wants it to be. However, because she is a woman, her voice is not listened to. Together with Versailles, the captured werewolf, she finally dares to break out into an uncertain future...
With "Meute", Noëlle Kröger (* 1997 in Hamburg) creates a fantastic story about being different and the power that normative communities have on the lives of minorities. The book was one of the finalists for the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung Comic Book Prize in 2024 and was Kröger's publishing debut with Reprodukt in fall 2024.
After the comic reading, we will talk to Noëlle Kröger about making comics in general and working on "Meute" in particular. We will then open the exhibition of the comic in Café Barbakane at Moritzbastei.
