When the young up-and-coming estate agent Thomas Hutter is sent to the Carpathian Mountains by his superior to conclude a lucrative real estate deal with a certain Count Orlok, he resolutely accepts the assignment. But his newlywed wife Ellen is reluctant to let him go. Her fears for Thomas are too great and her nightmares of death and destruction weigh too heavily on her. Thomas brushes Ellen's concerns aside. But when he finally reaches the count's castle and the gates close behind him, he senses that Ellen may have been right. And that the count carries nothing but death - and ruin.
The new film by exceptional director Robert Eggers tells the story of F.W. Murnau's groundbreaking silent film "Nosferatu - Symphony of Horror", which was released over 100 years ago, in a completely new and fascinating way. An independent, artistic vision of a legendary story and a masterpiece of the horror genre.
