A warm invitation to the Nowruz celebration in the foyer of PACT!
In addition to our Sofreh Haftsin, who will serve as a photo station for diasporic communities and our family of choice, Taiiz Nawab will play a hopeful DJ set with Afghan, Kurdish and Iranian music.
Let's toast the new year together, take family photos with loved ones and dance - because dance is life, and life is resistance.
DJ TAĪĪZ is a versatile Afghan artist who was born into a family of artists in Hamburg in the 1980s. In her unique sets, she combines SWANA music with a variety of genres including Hip Hop, Baile Funk, Afrobeat, Afghan Beats and Desi/Bollywood and many more, making her sets one of a kind. Outside of the decks, DJ TAĪĪZ is active as a radio presenter and curator, introducing Afghan artists through events such as 'Afghhanistan's Hidden Music Treasures' and her podcast 'Soundspuren' on Byte FM.
The event will take place at PACT Zollverein in the foyer.
