Leonce, prince from the realm of Popo, and Lena, princess from the realm of Pipi, are to marry. Without even having seen each other! In order to escape this destiny, they flee and run straight into the arms of fate: Unbeknownst to each other, they meet and fall in love. Dream and reality, fate and chance, exuberance and sadness - the third year of NEXT GENERATION! explores Georg Büchner's LEONCE AND LENA with great enthusiasm.

Since the 2022/23 season, Schauspiel Köln and Bühnenkunstsalon Köln e.V. have been producing a professionalization programme for talented actors who live with physical and/or cognitive disabilities: NEXT GENERATION! The format, which is unique in Germany, sees itself as an artistic laboratory in which multi-perspective aesthetics and working methods are explored.
