Alica Minar develops a clownish-tragic figure whose initially naive joy in finding and collecting simple black spheres increasingly turns into unbridled greed.
"I am a star, I shine like a supernova...or have I become a black hole?"
"DEVOURER - the devourer - exists only to have. In his determined effort to make everything his own, he absorbs light, breathes in space and materializes time. A body of greed, caught in the act."
from the performance materials
"In this one-hour production, Alica Minar develops a clownish, tragic figure whose initially naive joy in finding and collecting simple, black spheres increasingly turns into unbridled greed. At some point, she seems to be willing to use any means to satisfy it. Every ingestion, every swallow reveals more and more that it is something very human that we are watching being gobbled up. DEVOURER's story is highly complex in its simplicity, which makes it engaging and captivating. Anyone who gets involved cannot ignore the mirror in front of their face. In the end, it's hard to tell who is devouring whom and who is caught up in whose maelstrom."
