For all those who want to try beatboxing - now you have the chance. Learn from professional Patrick Dudek alias Patbeat.
Find out how to create percussion instruments, everyday noises or rhythms with your mouth and voice. Just come in and hear what the human beatbox sounds like up close - with and without a microphone. You can ask questions, try it out yourself or just listen. Beatboxing is not that difficult, anyone can learn it. This free workshop is an open offer, really everyone is invited to get to grips with this great art form.
Beatboxing is the art of imitating drums and other percussion instruments with your mouth, using no other aids than a microphone. Human beatboxing is also referred to as the "fifth pillar" or the "fifth element" of hip-hop culture and is therefore one of its essential characteristics. The entire spectrum of mouth musicians ranges from hip hop to club, Latin, drum'n'bass, jazz and world music. The artists replace the drummer or bassist in bands or sometimes tell stories with background noise.
Patrick Dudek is a dancer and beatboxer. He always gives 100% on stage, combining beatboxing with dancing like no other. Patbeat passionately passes on all his experience in workshops. His references as a beatboxing and dance coach extend across various institutions, schools and clubs throughout Germany. He makes it his goal to inspire other people for the art of dance and beatboxing without taking himself too seriously.
Both workshops will take place in the seminar room on the 2nd floor.
