Olicía – Out of the blue

The colorful voices of the two multi-instrumentalists and singers Anna-Lucia Rupp and Fama M'Boup sometimes resemble the sounds of mechanical instruments, sometimes they are deeply organic bodies of sound that combine with soulful-warm, lascivious-cool or playful pop-affine and multilingual vocal parts. Their joint band project Olicía moves between fragile folk moments, pulsating pop, dazzling soul, jazz and spoken word. In doing so, they create their very own world of sound, the focal point of which is always the use of the voice through an infinite variety of vocal techniques, supplemented by loops and various instruments. The creation of their songs takes place entirely in real time on stage and draws on the deep harmony of the two highly musical friends. On their new album Out of the Blue, they now combine art and music, painting their sound artworks on our inner canvas and lighting up the room.
