Olicía: OUT OF THE BLUE – THE EXHIBITION

In the organizer's words:

A ten-day exhibition and event series curated by Olicía in collaboration with Kunsthaus Dresden

In further collaboration with dasKONZERTs

With music by Olicía and works by Dshamila Annina (woodwork), Malene Glintborg (jewelry design), Katharina Haydeyan (fashion design), Lisa Hoffmann (film), Claudia Kleiner (painting), Gunther Kleinert (graphics), Sudabeh Mohafez (literature) and Micha Steinwachs (photography)

How is a song, a line of poetry or a work of art created? For their album and the exhibition Out of the Blue, musicians Fama M'Boup and Anna-Lucia Rupp have initiated a friendly, collaborative exchange with very different artists, which is fed by joy, curiosity or admiration for each other's work.

What the artists in the various media have in common is the search for artistic strategies and new forms that give expression to the feelings and needs of our time. The 14 songs on the new album and 10 new works of painting, photography, fashion, design, literature, film and handicrafts are the result of a ping-pong of ideas, conversations and mutual inspiration.

The title of the album and exhibition, Out of the Blue, refers not only to the wonderfully unexpected in creative processes, but also to liberation from states of grief or oppression. The exhibition in the robotron canteen brings together the newly created music and all newly created works for ten days and invites visitors to track down the traces of shared inspiration and common principles of design in the various artistic media.
