Flight, displacement, the search for a new home - topics that are more relevant today than ever. To mark World Refugee Day, we are joining forces with the UN Refugee Agency to talk about moving life stories and challenges that affect us all.
The afternoon will be hosted by Oliver Rohrbeck, known as the voice of Justus Jonas from "Die drei ???". A highlight of the event is the reading from the novel "Vor uns das Meer" by Alan Gratz (read aloud by Oliver Rohrbeck), which interweaves three stories of flight spanning decades: Josef flees Nazi Germany in 1939, Isabel leaves Cuba in 1994, Mahmoud seeks refuge from the war in Syria in 2015. Three stories. Three times. One goal: to arrive.
You can expect a moving afternoon full of stories, exchanges and important food for thought: an appeal for humanity and hope. For everyone aged 12 and over.
