As part of this year's onCe Festival for Instant Composition, two performances by renowned artists will be shown every evening for one week. The program allows the long-standing tradition of dance improvisation, for which Freiburg is internationally renowned, to blossom.
if only i could be here now (practices in presence) | #place of peace | Lily Kiara (NL)
This piece is part of the ongoing project "Field of Disappearance", which began in 2015 and is dedicated to silence and transparency in dance. In "if only i could be here now" aspects of presence, listening and desire in relation to silence are considered in form. In my longing for sameness lies a longing for listening, for silence and for the urgency of peace.
"66...69" | Lilo Stahl & Thomas Mettler (D/CH)
L.S. & T.M., two stage artists who have appreciated each other's work for four decades, meet on stage for the first time. In their work, improvisation has always been at the heart of their research. "66...69" are just two numbers - but the dance would be different if it were "26...29" or "46...49". And ...it will always change.
