This piece by the exceptional Belgian artist Miet Warlop is literally breathtaking and celebrated throughout Europe. It's not just the people on stage who get out of breath, but also the audience, as they watch 14 performers in a crazy sports piece that turns out to be a sweat-inducing concert of a single song. A setting with stands and a pitch, a soccer team and a commentator, a violinist on the balance beam and a singer on the treadmill, fan scarves, flags and a song that keeps the atmosphere heating up: in "One Song", Miet Warlop dares to perform a balancing act between sport, competition and rock concert. The performers go into a kind of trance until they are completely exhausted; everyone gives their all - right down to the last note and drop of sweat. Like a religious community in ecstasy, they gather around the song that embodies the spirit of their community, creating a captivating allegory of life, loss, art and theater ... Miet Warlop is currently one of the most important performance artists and works at the interface between theater and visual art. In 2026, she will design the Belgian pavilion for the Venice Art Biennale.
